Avoid Identity Theft:  Deter, Detect, Defend

68-Year-Old Domestic Violence Victim tells her story - October 2008

Walk Against Violence & Balloon Launch - May 2, 2009
This public awareness event at Grace College took place in partnership
with the Kosciusko County Animal Shelter and family members of a
    recent domestic violence murdered victim.

The victimization of an individual is only the beginning of a long and difficult road.  The pain and suffering does not end with the criminal act itself.  Victimization continues at the hands of the criminal justice system, counselors, families, friends, employers, co-workers, neighbors, and church families; people who mean well, but simply do not understand the "victim experience."  The effects of this re-victimization can be extremely damaging. Not only has the victim's internal balance been totally disrupted, leaving them lost and confused; but their only means of support typically lack the knowledge and  understanding to help them.  Although this may be unintentional, it is very real and desperately needs addressed.
